$25 towards all items in store. The Menard Station (TMS) by design is set up to give back to the Menard Community, to tell some of Menard’s rich history and to educate the public about Menard as a producer of food, fiber and fuel to the state of Texas. TMS gives back to the community by offering free RO water, Keurig coffee and a vegetable exchange table along with Pecan Spring Ranch eggs. Donations are highly encouraged as 100% of your donation supports The Menard Benevolence Fund (MBF) which gives to the 4-H club, Boys & Girls club and the Volunteer Fire Department equally. TMS tells Menard’s history and the contributions of German, Scottish and Spanish Texans through a series of wall murals painted by Mason artist, Bud Menchaca. Additionally, we have a display of the original Range Canning Company equipment and artifacts from Ft. McKavett, Texas. TMS educates the public as to Menards contribution to Texas by the raising of sheep and goats which provides wool, mohair, cabrito and lamb chops. The station will have an interactive learning area complete with ewes and nannies, along with their baby lambs and goat kids for the public to view. Native American Seed out of Junction, Texas has restored TMS with the planting of a Horned Lizard Habitat seed mix, native grasses, flowers and various plants. Which has led TMS to receive a Texas Master Naturalist designation as a Monarch and Pollinator Waystation Habitat. Additionally, TMS has created a turtle and fishpond ecosystem from its rainwater retention pond. TMS has a Ranch to Table Farmers Market every Saturday from 11am to 2pm and on the first Saturday of every month, we have a Castoff rummage sale. TMS needs farmers, ranchers, cooks, bakers and artisans to bring their products to sell at TMS every Saturday. Additionally, TMS sells: -Wagyu Beef and Dorper Lamb with all cuts available. -Chorizo and German Sausage from Santa Anna Processing. -Live goat kids and lambs for your harvesting. -Home of the 9-pounder bag of Ice. -Jayne’s Specialties Tomato Jalapeño Relish, seasonal jams and frozen prepared meals. -Mangonadas and Paletas. We hope you will stop by for a cup of coffee any day of the week and especially on Saturday to support The Free State of Menard Texas.
